1. What (and when) is Ohio Tech Day?

#OhioTechDay is a statewide celebration of technology in Ohio held annually on the final Friday of September. Ohio Tech Day 2023 is Friday, September 29th.

The goal of the day is to raise awareness for the role tech and innovation play in Ohio’s economy and to inspire our next generation of tech leaders.

#OhioTechDay showcases the amazing people, companies, and ideas that are Ohio tech and inspires students to consider careers in this exciting space.

2. Why focus on students?

Tech and innovation are only made possible by the people who make it happen. And for Ohio to be competitive into the 21st Century, we’ll need a strong tech-focused workforce.

Ohio Tech Day shows students that you don’t have to leave home in order to find great career opportunities in tech.

3. What happens on #OhioTechDay?

There are three components to Ohio Tech Day on September 29, 2023.

1. #OhioTechDay TV

   We host and run a series of virtual shows and conversations designed for students (typically high school and middle school). It kicks off the day and is free of charge and accessible to any student and school across Ohio - on Tech Day and beyond.

2. Schools, companies, and organizations host their own event.

   On Ohio Tech Day, there are celebrations across Ohio! Any school, company, or organization is welcome to partner and host an event - virtual or in person. Here are examples from 2021 and 2022!

3. Ohio tech gets trending on social! #OhioTechDay

   We encourage any school, company, and organization to share and showoff their tech on social media. Just use the hashtag #OhioTechDay and lets get tech in Ohio trending!

4. How can my school or company get involved?

There’s few ways to get involved!

• Host an Ohio Tech Day event - virtual or in person - on Friday, September 29th.

• Promote your tech and innovation on social media using the #OhioTechDay hashtags.

• Celebrate your tech and innovation professionals online using the hashtag #OhioTechDay.
