Ohio Tech Day 2025 was on September 26th

  • The Be Pro Be Proud mobile workshop returned to Ohio: on Tuesday, September 23 we kicked off Ohio Tech Day at BGSU; a 2nd visit was in Columbus

  • MAGNET welcomed students from John Marshall School of IT to learn from hard tech founders

  • INTERalliance had 30+ school chapters participating

  • The University of Akron invited local high schools to Engineering Professions Visit Day

  • Aiken High School Aviation Day included two helicopters landing at school and aviation professionals discussing their jobs with students

  • Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities went to local high schools and demonstrate assistive technology

  • OhioTechDayTV debuted new videos on YouTube

Examples of in-school activities

  • Iterative AI activity to produce an image of a fictional character

  • Create call and response programs in Scratch

  • Using MetaQuest VR goggles to engage in career exploratory simulations

  • STEM career activities in the cafeteria during lunch

  • Search for tech careers students might be interested in

  • Elementary students visiting a high school drone club

  • Code.org and graphic design activities

  • Showcasing student projects with robotics and 3D printing

  • Interviewing students in tech-related programs and sharing on social media

  • Use of AR/VR in the design of next-generation transportation solutions

  • Watch the videos, discuss tech in Ohio, and have snacks

Field Trips

  • Augustwenty hosted Hilliard High School students for a day of coding with their senior developers

  • Marion Technical College had local schools learn about Web Design, Software Development, and Cyber Security

  • Miami University College of Engineering and Computing: hosted a STEM field trip for younger students

  • Ohio Space Grant Consortium (Cleveland) hosted students from Douglas MacArthur Girls Leadership Academy

  • Ohio Supercomputer Center hosted a tour again

  • Polaris Career Center toured a Cleveland area data center

  • Shawnee State University hosted middle school students. learning about coding, 3D printing, and AR/VR
